AI platform builder, former enterprise AI leader, and founder focused on how real-world AI systems move from experimentation to production.
Payel Chowdhury founded Toutami after more than 15 years building and scaling data science, machine learning, and AI platforms across large enterprises and growth-stage organizations. Throughout her career, she has focused on how intelligent systems move from research and prototypes into production environments where decisions, workflows, and outcomes matter.
Prior to Toutami, she held senior leadership roles across Lowe's, Gap, Clorox, Genpact, and Citi, where she built global teams, led enterprise AI initiatives, and designed data and machine learning platforms used across merchandising, supply chain, marketing, digital, customer, and operational systems. These experiences shaped a consistent view: the hardest part of AI is not the model — it is building systems that work reliably in the real world.
Toutami was founded from that perspective. The company's approach is rooted in platform thinking, production discipline, and the belief that the next generation of AI products will be won by teams that can combine strong architecture, thoughtful product design, and deep understanding of real user workflows.
